Ready Set Eat

A reader emailed me some info on Readyseteat.com, so I have looking at the site and find it a cool thing!

Ready Set Eat has great recipes for you to choose from.  What is the cool thing is that you can type in your zipcode and store.  When you choose recipes it will tell you which items are on sale at the store you had chosen.

Some of you might find this interesting some may not.  I think it is a great way to try new recipes and a neat way to see if the ingredients you need for the recipe is on sale! :)

Kid's Fun Activities for Summer!

I LOVE summer time and LOVE my kids being out of school!  It is a fun time for all of us.  We are not always on the go and just try to enjoy time together. 

BUT I do know sometimes kids get bored, or my favorite, "there is NOTHING to do" !  So, here are a few programs you could do with your child....

Barnes and Nobles Summer Reading Program.  Download the journal and have your child read 8 books and record them in the reading journal.  Kids then get to pick out a free book from the Barnes and Nobles list when they turn in their Reading journal at a local Barnes and Nobles!

Smores

This weekend I am a great Campground and on of the things my kids wanted to do was make S'mores.

I love regular O' S'mores, but I thought a little bit of different would be a great thing to try...

Here are my ideals!

1.  Try spreading the crackers with peanut butter before adding chocolate and marshmallow.

2.  Try any of the above variations with white chocolate or Hershey's Cookies and Cream bars

3.  Chocolate Grahams Crackers, not the easies thing to find but they are GREAT!

Yesterday as the storms were passing through the area I KNOW there were many people praying for God's hand of protection!  God did protect!  No lives were lost!

There was something really AWESOME after the storms past through...




If you look really close it is a double rainbow!

As we were heading home we seen this beautiful rainbow.  My kids starting talking about it and here is how the conversation went...

They said "you know what mom, God protected us during the storms and that rainbow means God keeps HIS promises!"  So true, God does keep HIS promises, here are some of them....

I have had many questions about how much would I pay for certain items.

One thing is all of us are at different levels of couponing.  Some will pay $1 for a tube of toothpaste when I will only pay a .25 or less.  So please remember we are at different levels, you may not be at the level I am but that is ok, you will be eventually :)

My goal is to get as close to free as possible.  BUT there are times you are out of certain items and HAVE to buy them, so here is somewhat of a list...

Daily Scripture

So, with all the recent storm activity, my kids are a little nervous with "storms coming in later today".

I started thinking, how much do we really trust God.  Do we trust HIM even during those stormy times, in the natural storms or just storms of life. 



My children and I prayed together..

 I want them to have peace to know not only will mom and dad protect them, but that Jesus Christ in Heaven is the ALMIGHTY protector!!  Things might get scary with the storm BUT Jesus has HIS angels protecting us! 

Here is the scripture speaking to my heart today...

Isaiah 26:3-4
3 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.
4 Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.

I am keeping my eyes on Jesus and trusting HIM completely!
