Walgreens 101

If you don't know exactly how to shop Walgreens with the Register Rewards, I am going to try help you out. When you go to Walgreens you HAVE to HAVE a plan.

Register Rewards are manufacturer coupons that print out when your transaction is complete. They are coupons that are used on your next purchase. When doing a deal that earns Register Rewards you CAN use other coupons! If the Reward doesn't print then you either bought the wrong product(which can happen) or there is problem with the Catalina machine. Ask for a manager and he/she will help.

When you earn a Register Reward you can use it to buy other items that earn Register Rewards, but NOT on the same deal that produced the Register Reward.

Example: Buy Tylenol for $3.99, earns $3 Register Reward (RR)

Then buy Gillette Razor Razor for $7.99, use the $3RR from the Tylenol, earn $4RR for the Gillette Razor.

You CANNOT use the $3 Tylenol RR to buy more Tylenol and ear another reward.
Using the Reward will cancel out the Register Reward that you should be earning. But you can use Register Rewards on OTHER DEALs earning Register Rewards.

If you are buying 3 items but are using 4 coupons because you have 3 coupons for the items and a Register Reward, you need to have a filler item. A filler item is a cheap item. Like a pencil for .15. Because you cannot have more coupons than items. A manufacturer coupon and a walgreens coupon(like a coupon in the walgreens ad) can be used on 1 item and counts as 1 coupon.

That is why you have to have a plan. Play with the Register Rewards by alternating between items that produce Register Rewards. I usually don't hardly pay anything at Walgreens because I "play" with the Register Rewards.

REMEMBER: Register Rewards do have Expiration Dates, watch closely so that they don't expire or you will feel sick. TRUST ME. That is like throwing money away! :)
