Walgreens coupons

I have had several of you email me about your local Walgreens Store saying that the coupons in the Monthly coupon booklet are manufacturer coupons and you cannot use a manufacturer coupon with the coupon in the booklet.

Well, here is a past advertisement on Walgreens TELLING you to use both coupons....

The Instant Value coupon is the coupon in the Walgreens coupon booklet

So, to me, Walgreens is Suggesting you stack!  What do YOU think???

  2. I am a Walgreens cashier, I know all the tricks when it comes to using our monthly coupons from the book along with a manufacturer coupon.

In order to use both coupons flawlessly you must have the cashier scan the manufacturer coupon FIRST, then the store coupon.

There are times when the system will not accept the manufacturer coupon if you scan the store coupon first, don't know why, it doesn't happen often, but it does happen. If you get stuck in a situation where the cashier scanned the store coupon first, simply ask them to void that coupon off and use the manufacturer one first. If they tell you a coupon can't be voided they must not know what they are doing. Have a manager come up. Simple as that. Hope this helped!

  3. Happened to us over the weekend...at a WGs in the western part of MO. The cashier scanned the WG coupon first, then the MC and it wouldn't allow us to use the MC. The cashier happened to be the assistant manager, so she looked at the items and the coupon and said, "I don't know why this isn't working....you bought the right stuff." So she manually over-rode the system so it would take the second coupon. BUT, not all managers will do that. They have told me I was basically out of luck when that has happened. Not all, but some.

  4. Is there a "coupon policy" posted for WG somewhere? I have decided this is the only way to make sure you get what you're supposed to. Last week I had the "free" carefree pantyliners coupon and the lady said,," don't even make me try to use this coupon...the coupon is for $1 and they're on sale for .99, I can't manipulate the system and they've been giving me trouble all week." I used them at WM instead.

  5. I have not had any problems using both coupons at the wg in Warrenton or in Wentzville /Ofallon area. But if you type in the search bar wg coupon policy it will pull it up tired it the other day. Hopefully this will help you.
    Have a blessed day!!

  6. The problem that I had was...the computer took all coupons but another employee noticed it and came over to get it taken off. We are now suppose to watch their coupon booklet and if it says mfr coupons, we cannot stack.

  7. Had a HORRIBLE situation last night at my local WG's. Very frustrated, to say the least. She wouldn't let me use the "in ad" coupon along with a MC. Said I didn't have enough items to do that. (I had 1 item that had an in ad coupon and I wanted to use a MC along with it...their policy is stated so that it seems like that should work.) She said (kinda snotty), "See, that says *coupon*...and you have to have equal items to coupons." But I KNOW I've done that before and been able to use the in ad coupon with a MC. Am I way off on this?

Seems like WG's is changing their rules on people from one week to the next. :(
