Stacking B1G1 Free coupons with $1/1 Coupons

There has been some debate on stacking a B1G1 Free coupon with a $1/1 coupon(to use on the item you are not getting free).
So the last few days I have been thinking, pondering, praying about this scenario.

So is it right?????  YES   VS    NO

Yes..
You can use 1 coupon per item. A B1G1 Free coupon is attached to 1 item – the free item. So, you can use a $1/1 coupon on the non-free item. Therefore you are using 1 coupon per item.

VS

No...
A B1G1 Free coupon is no different than say, a $1/2 coupon. You wouldn’t stack a $1/1 and a $1/2 on the same two items, so a B1G1 coupon should be thought of in the same way.

So for me, I will not be stacking the coupons or posting the scenarios for the stacking of the coupons.  I am not saying everyone needs to agree with me, just go with what feels right to YOU!! :)

  3. Why don't you ask manufacturer's what the policy is? If they allow it and always meant for it to be done, then you can go with it. If it is a loop hole they did not anticipate and don't want people to do, then you have your answer.

  4. My opinion is if the second item is TOTALLY free, then no, it's not right to use 2 coupons. However, my grocery stores charge each item at 1/2 price, so technically you are still being charged for 2 things just at cheaper cost. The store allows you to use 2 coupons, so I always do.

  5. Personally, I think that it is up to the store. If the store approves it as part of their coupon policy, then there is nothing wrong with it. I don't think there are any stores that have been in business for at least a year that don't have a well thought out coupon policy. I doubt they are just overlooking it. If their policy says it is alright, I don't see anything wrong with it.

  6. Unless a coupon has the wording, "Buy one at regular price, get one free" I think it is fine to use both. I have had this discussion with several cashiers and store managers. Once it is worded that way, they all agree that there is nothing wrong with it. The store is getting reimbursed for both coupons.

  7. When you have a B1G1 it's really like saying that both items are 50% off. Is that any different than an in-store special? I don't see the issue.

  8. I had this problem today for the 1st time today. I tried to explain how the BOGO is for a free item and the other was for the full priced. The cashier said the BOGO was for 2 items. I could have went over it with her but I decide just not to get them item. I wasn't in need of it. I just wanted to use it since it expired today. She also wasnt't going to let me use coupons on trial sizes, even thought no excludtions were listed. I stood my ground (with a smile) with the policy and they found out they were wrong. :)
