I have been using Homemade Laundry Detergent almost a year ( I made it 2/22/11 for the first time)
Believe it or not, I just ran out of laundry detergent! I put the last of the detergent in my detergent bottle!
So, this week I will actually be making Homemade Laundry detergent myself :)
I LOVE IT!! Some people do not like it but for us it works! You can use a booster for your whites - like oxiclean.
Also during the summer when my landscaper husband has some very stinky clothes I use a cup of white vinegar to neutrilizer the odor instead of softner. ( just make sure not to use vinegar AND Bleach together because it will release toxic fumes :)
So, try it and see if it works for your family. I do use it in my front loader washer and I have not had any problems, but of course that is up to you. The homemade laundry detergent does NOT have suds like regular detergent( which is what could mess up your front loader washer). Suds does not mean more clean
Do you know what could make the detergent not gel up? I followed the recipe last time I made it, but it never gelled. Do you think the temperature of my garage would affect it?
ReplyDeleteYes I think the temperature and weather will make a difference. BUT the detergent will work just fine and get your clothes clean :)
